Since 2016, Camilla Franks has streamlined her business’ philanthropy efforts with The Hunger Project; an Australian charity that aims to facilitate programs for women and girls living in marginalised areas of India to develop skills and knowledge that empower them to make positive and tangible cultural and structural changes within their communities.

Thank you to each and every beautiful tribe member who has purchased any of the pieces we’ve released over the past 2 years for The Butterfly Effect – which is transforming the lives of young girls in India.

Together, we’ve raised $200,000 towards our $240,000 goal, 83% of our goal!

From January 2018 to June 2019, 339 child marriages have been stopped and 288 girls have enrolled or re-enrolled into school.

This is an incredible impact that will have a ripple effect to these girls’ families, schools, and communities – now and into the future.

The Butterfly Effect is exclusively funded by the Camilla brand and tribe, so it means a lot to us to have your support.

These funds go towards educating and training 1,000 young women in Bihar, India around issues affecting their health, freedom and safety, with the ultimate aim of preventing child marriage.

The challenges these young women face are enormous and unfathomable:

- Two of every five marriages (42.5%) in India involves a child marriage

- Girls in Bihar in particular face enormous challenges as Bihar has the highest rates of child marriage in the country — as high as three out of every five marriages (60%)

- Less than 20% of 16-17 year olds go to school

- 90% experience anaemia

- High rates of child labour and trafficking
